Having old copies of the seoredirect.xml file is nice, but shouldn't there be some sort of auto cleanup? E.g. no more than 30 back-up files and/or back-up files older than 1 year are automatically deleted?

We use https://www.40fingers.net/Products/DNN-Filecuumcleaner for that ATM

I know that module, but it would mean an additional module install, dependency, settings, etc.

Ok, I just referenced it.
But it I agree it could be a nice option to keep only x versions when saving the XML file
