Expected behavior

It doesn't truncate the right side of the letters.

Unexpected behavior

It truncates characters such as f, k, w, 7 too heavily.

I understand that this problem is indicated in fontsrv(1), I'm just trying to say that it's possibly farther from perfect than expected.

Here's how New York 64 looks like in Acme and Apple's Font Book:

Steps to reproduce the problem

The version of New York I use is taken from https://developer.apple.com/fonts/

plan9port version

OS version

macOS 14.5 (23F79)
