Hi,

Nice to see there's a solution to get Nextcloud notifications on my LineageOS smartphone where google has nothing to do.

I've been following the instructions I found here but when I tap on "Log in via Nextcloud app", I get the following error message (as translated in english by deepl.com):

In order to use Nextcloud single sign-on on this device, you must allow access in your user accounts

I'd need an explanation, because when I open Parameters > Accounts on my smartphone, I find Nextcloud and in there the username@nextcloud address I used in NextcloudServices which are the correct ones.

What did I miss?

Hello.
It seems that android system has not granted the app access to read accounts. So could you please tell me your LineageOS version and app source(F-Droid, GitHub, self-built).
Probably it is not your fault: it may be my mistake in defining app permissions or error in Nextcloud authorization library.

They are required for app to find Nextcloud applications in newer versions of API. Lack of them may be reason for issue #22

Thanks for taking care @Andrewerr.

The android system is Resurrection Remix (believe it or not... :D ) Nougat android-7.1.2_r36 on a Samsung J320-FN.

When I tried to get NextcloudServices from F-Droid, I got an error message, it looked like it tried to download the version 7.
So I got it from github as of version 1.0-beta 10.

Oh, the oldest verison of android I've tested on is 8.1(LOS 15.1). So it is highly likely that this lack of some permissions in manifest. I will try to test it on emulator and if it is not the problem with Nextcloud's authentication library I will fix it in next update.

Hello. I have tried granting app all permissions connected with accounting, but unfortunately on my emulator(AOSP 7.1.1) it still do not work. So I am going to create issue in repository of Nextcloud's SingleSignOn. Hopefully they will be able to explain how to fix this issue.
By the way it is strange that GitHub closed the issue automatically(have no idea why), so I will reopen it with this comment.

Hello @manu-p. Unfortunately as Nextcloud's team which maintains SingleSignOn library do not respond there is still no progress :(
