Antoine, a good set of motivators.  You could also note that some people make money from their blogs, with ads and banners.  Also, some people (I am an example) aggregate their blog posts into articles or books, so blogging is a way to make incremental progress toward a longer-term publishing goal.   Third, some people blog because they believe passionately in a topic or view and want to persuade others about it.

Dear Rees,

Thank you for your 3 suggestions. Here are my remarks:

1. I intentionally avoided to write about financial incentives because I believe that it is not a good motivation to start a blog. First, many people do not make money with their blog and never will. Second, it is true that there are also a lot of people who make money with their blog, but for most of them the money is not worth the time (a blog can be so time consuming that they could definitely make money more easily somewhere else, and as a blog maintainer yourself I am pretty sure you can confirm that). Moreover, as you can see, I chose not to put advertising or banner as I think that it deteriorates the reading experience (I find ads and banners extremely annoying when I see them on other blogs). This is of course my opinion it remains a matter of personal choice, and a matter of trade off: worse reading experience and more money versus better reading experience and less money. I added a small note about this in this footnote.

Its quite interesting and I agree that when teachers teach us statistics they really enjoyed as well as me enjoyed the classes of Data science and get offer in an MNC. I have learning Data science in Learnbay to grow my career and the statistics are very very interesting while learning. I liked your blog and the way you interact with the audience to learn completely.

For non-technical blogs I recommend Medium or WordPress because it is easy to set up and it does not require code. For technical blogs, there are plenty of static site generators to choose from but I highly recommend using Hugo and the {blogdown} package (I created my blog after reading this book). You can then host it on GitHub and publish it using Netlify.3

I personally am a big fan of using Wordpress because it had the smallest learning curve. There is a working fork of the RWordpress package (see here for discussion) where its possible to push your RMarkdown code directly to your Wordpress site. Right now it doesn't support pushing visuals (need to do that manual) and the text does not come pushed in Wordpress blocks (i.e. some manual formatting is necessary). But despite this I'm still a big fan of using it.

Thanks for your input (and your blog is great by the way!).

It is true that Wordpress is quite easy to set it up! Moreover, after the implementation, non-technical websites can then easily be maintained by people who have no coding or programming experience.

I have no experience in building websites on Wordpress when some R code and outputs are involved though (I have only used WP when there was no code involved), so I cannot really tell anything about that.

In any case, if one day you want to switch to Hugo, make sure you’ll find plenty of tutorials online so the learning curve is not that steep (especially if you already know R).
