Description

It looks like the religion brush don't follow borders properly. See in the enclosed screenshot:
image
This is a zoomed view, and I used the smallest available brush but it still went over the edges. If the brush editor for religions is strictly the same as for cultures, then this issue may be related to the latest updates because I used the culture brush two weeks ago and it worked fine.

Steps to reproduce

  • Define a border on a map;
  • open the religion editor;
  • open the brush tool;
  • assign a religion following the border;
  • save it: the religion will go over the edges instead of perfectly lining up with the border.

Expected behaviour

The religion area should not go over the border.

Actual behaviour

Currently, it's impossible to remove the "small patches of religion" that went over the border, because they're too small for the brush tool.

.map file

The issue is on the bottom left corner, in the islands.

Hello. That usually happens in case of incorrect map data. Can you please check on a new map and also after the Heightmap edit in Risk mode?

Ok, it looks like it works properly on a new map. Where do I find the heightmap editor in risk mode?

Tools -> Heightmap -> Risk

Thanks, so I went into risk mode, immediately exited it and tried to correct the religion border, no luck.
I tried again and changed some height, but still no luck.

Furthermore, this part of the map was an imported image. Maybe this could be the problem? I didn't have it on a new map with an imported image though.

So I found a way to get this right, by editing the state edges: it's now aligned with the religion borders. It worked on this island, not on another (smaller) one where I use provinces borders to delimit religions.
Edit : when reloading the map from the saved file, the religion limits don't align any more. Do you have a solution please? :(

This happens inconsistently for me too. I haven't seen any evidence this is caused by map file corruption. The borders draw themselves properly after selecting the religion in the editor. However there is still some "bleed." Seems to be a rendering or drawing problem.

Is it still hapenning?

Yes it does, unfortunately. I just tried using the latest version of the tool and it keeps not following borders :(
