Using Amiberry WHDBooter with RetroPie Installation and Setup

Step 0: Installation of Retropie

You will require RetroPie 4.4 or above for this. For alternative distributions, paths may differ.

Full installations guides for setting up and running of RetroPie should be found directly from the RetroPie main pages.

The following steps are provided for a highlight only, and you should refer to the RetroPie First Instatllation Guide for full details.

1. Installation of RetroPie

   • Flash the image for Retropie 4.4 to your MicroSD Card
   • Insert card into Pi and boot Retropie
   • Wait / Reboot as required for changes to card size etc.

2. Setup of RetroPie & EmulationStation

   • Essential: Add Joypad Options (this will be requested by EmulationStation on first load)

   • Essential: Connect Internet

     • Either: Ethernet
     • Or: Select Retropie Menu: Wifi
     • Enter details/key using keyboard

   • Optional: Enable SSH (for SFTP transfer of files)

     • Select Retropie Menu: Raspi-Config
     • Select: Interfacing Options
     • Select: SSH
     • Answer: Yes
     • Reboot Pie
