OpenMapTiles has finally released new version, with many our known issues resolved (hopefully): https://github.com/openmaptiles/openmaptiles/releases/tag/v3.8 and blog post

Changes needed in style:

  • extract separate virtual layer for 2nd level bridges - where layer>=2, and make sure it is in top of other bridges. Similar to mapbox latest streets style. Resolves most multi-layer bridge cases, e.g. this
  • render sand and beach - the season is coming!

@makella I updated now basemap development tools, so https://fast-staging.nutiteq.com/preview/compare.html shows comparison between GIT and production. Can spot some, but very little differences, as most changes require style update to be visible. Can you help me with that?

hi @jaakla!!

I was out of the office for a few days so just seeing this!

I don't mind reviewing, but can it wait until after VL release / Locations?

thanks!!

hi @jaakla just wanted to give an update here about the new attribute for overpass/underpass. As I mentioned, @ztephm and I will be researching this change and how to incorporate into our existing styles. We will be keeping track of our findings, testing, and anything else related to this in this issue.

Once we have a better handle on all of the attribute values, and do some testing with styling, incorporating into existing styles, we will be able to give you a better sense of timeframe.

thanks!
