To improve the overall performance of Gossamer nodes by examining and refactoring different components. Below outlines loose target benchmarks the team is looking to achieve:

Metrics Node Type Parameters Target Current Delta
Memory Usage Archive Node At head of chain <3GB ~7.3GB
CPU Archive Node While syncing 80-100%
Storage size Archive Node At block height 1.6M 15-20 GB ~ 36GB
Blocks Per Second Archive Node Around 3-4M 30 15-20
Sync Speed Archive Node Genesis to 3M ~48 hours ~72 hours
