Loading messages

Currently we're showing "Loading.." messages while loading data. To make this a bit nicer, we could replace those by a loading spinner.

Error messages

Currently error messages are either black normal text, or in some cases red. However we could improve these by using an alert banner with some background color. I do not have any specific design in mind, but worth trying out a few things.
