Dataset uploads not setting start/end properly #277

Description

When a user uploads a dataset the application doesn't necessarily set that as the start or end dataset as appropriate.

Environment

  • v0.3.1-alpha8+

Steps to reproduce

  1. upload a dataset
  2. add an entry
  3. upload a second dataset

Expected results

the 2 datasets should be set as start and end respectively

Actual results

the behavior is somewhat arbitrary.
