Remove [[gnu::unused]] parameters

There are quite some functions with parameters that are not used. To avoid them to produce warning messages all the time, I marked them with `[[gnu::unused]]`` attribute, but that is only a temporary solution.

Think in each case, why are these parameters there at all. Actually using them may change the algorithm, so in many/most/all cases, these parameters should be removed.
