Some people post valid answers as comments, and there's currently no way to fix this.
There should be an option that would allow a user (with specific permissions) to convert the comment to an answer.

very important, yes. And make sure you don't need points for doing this but rather be in a moderator role

don't agree about moderator mode or special permissions to convert your own comments to answers
The q&a modules that i've seen allow the author to do this;
Of course moderators should have the right to do it with other's people comments/answers.
