[Feature Request] Show gradient or highlight on both sides of the cursor

I have been using specs for a long time but things are starting to break because it hasn't been updated in over 2 years.

This seems like a nice alternate plugin.

However, one thing I'm missing is the animation which shows a gradient on both sides of the cursor. So, something like what is shown in entries 1, 2, and 3 below (taken from specs repo README):

Can you provide an optional setting to switch between the 2 variants of highlights? (or possibly more than 2)
