Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The basic support for DASH-IF Content steering was implemented in #4031. This issue collects remaining items that should be addressed in the future. The idea of #4031 is to offer users a first working version to collect feedback.

Todos & Enhancements:

  • Align with what DVB is doing. Anything to reconsider here with respect to the current implementation
  • Verify against live content
  • Check with DASH-IF for "real" test content
  • HTTP request parametrization not supported yet. This probably a dedicated issue as we dont support HTTP GET request parametrization with urn:mpeg:dash:urlparam:2014 yet.

  • Steering Server HTTP 410 response: Use cached/last response and stop steering timer
  • Overwrite ttl value and use 429 Retry-After value if present
