Code for Development: The IDB's Commitment to Open Source

Welcome to the Inter-American Development Bank’s GitHub repository. Here, you will find all the open-source tools developed by the IDB.

The IDB was the first multilateral institution to establish a repository of open-source software for public management, with the goal of amplifying the impact of public managers in Latin America and the Caribbean. We believe that by providing open-source software tailored to the needs of governments, we can promote efficiency, effectiveness, and innovation in public management practices.

To access the complete repository of the IDB's open-source initiative, visit Code for Development. There, you will find an extensive repository of over 200 tools, including not only tools developed internally by IDB experts and hosted on this GitHub/EL-BID, but also many others developed by renowned universities, non-profit organizations, technology companies, and governments, all curated by the IDB.

All these tools are strategically designed to enhance public management practices throughout the region. They can be used freely, modified, and incorporated as components of other products.

Visit our website to learn about our open-source initiative, Code for Development.
