Using own instance of Jikan

By default, jikan.net library sends requests to the default endpoint (As for 13th February 2022, default endpoint is set to https://api.jikan.moe/v4/). You may however host your own instance of Jikan REST API as described in an official repository. The benefits of hosting your own instance is lesser workload - in contrast to shared endpoint, you control who sends requests to Jikan.

To use jikan.net with your own instance, pass the url address as a string or Uri class to main class constructor.

IJikan jikanClient;

// Uses default endpoint
jikanClient = new Jikan();

//In both cases, client uses custom endpoint
var jikanConfig = new JikanClientConfiguration { Endpoint = "<url_to_your_instance>" };
var jikan = new Jikan(jikanConfig);

Before applying your own Jikan REST API endpoint to jikan.net library, it's best to check if your instance is working properly. This can be checked through sending simple request via web browser, for example pasting <url_to_your_instance>/anime/1 to search bar.
