Consider these:

Putting auth in pages in full protection
Putting auth in layouts prevent flashing, but no actual protection
Maintain state of the signing in action (callback url, etc.) requires plaguing every page in auth flow (sign in, sign up, email verification) with callback props => a lot of prop drilling
