Roadmap

We use this thread to discuss changes to the development roadmap of the FlexMeasures EMS for the next year(s). This roadmap also frequently comes up in our Technical Steering Committee meetings (sign up to the mailinglist here). Feel free to engage with us if you want to influence our plans.

One of our clients needs us to advance our planned work on optimizing battery schedules against self-consumption, and also has a need to account for usage-dependent depreciation costs of the battery. We suggest to adapt our roadmap to support this use case a little sooner, as follows:

• [Already possible] Post solar forecasts / self-consumption forecasts
• [Q3 -> Q2 2022] Scheduler takes into account solar forecasts / self-consumption forecasts
• [Q3 -> Q2 2022] Scheduler takes into account asymmetric tariffs (e.g. to support cases where taxes apply only to consumption)
• [Q3 2022] Trigger forecasts with dedicated API endpoint
• [Q3 2022] Ability to plug in your own custom forecast models
• [Not planned -> Q3 2022] Scheduler takes into account usage-dependent device depreciation
