My suggestion would be to first order on status (aangemaakt, voorgesteld, verstuurd, gesloten, voldaan, geannuleerd) and then based on last-updated date. This way the contracts that are actually still active and require follow-up are displayed at the top.
When using pagination, the newest contracts get moved to the second page. An example for this is the First Year Excursion
