First of all thanks for reporting the issue!

Can you run the following commands in the terminal and send the output (tip: use ctrl+shift+c to copy text from the terminal and ctrl+shift+v to paste).
Each line is a different command:

ls ~
ls ~/pi-apps
file ~/pi-apps/api
