Inline Image components

I am thinking of building a design for a new inline image user interface.
Here: WordPress/gutenberg#18035 (comment) and WordPress/gutenberg#28813

The reason why I am adding this issue here is that I am wondering about various components that can inspire me into creating a suitable design for the UI for inline images.

Which actually brings up the question. Thinking of new designs for various Gutenberg or WordPress admin components/screens/etc. Would the best place be to check Storybook Components or somewhere else. As screens are very much broken down into the various components that are needed to fulfill a specific purpose.
