JabRef version

Latest development branch build (please note build date below)

Operating system

Windows

Details on version and operating system

JabRef 100.0.0 Windows 10 10.0 amd64 Java 18.0.2.1 JavaFX 19+11

Checked with the latest development build

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

  1. Install Jabref with default preferences. Change no preferences (e.g. do NOT set a default file directory)
  2. add a linked file
  3. try to open linked file via right-click menu in "general" tab of entry editor

Expected result: The file will be opened with my pdf document viewer
Actual result: My "documents" folder opens

Additional info:

@Article{,
  file = {:C\:/server-t-150/Jabref & LatexTests/test (2021-07).pdf:PDF},
}

This is a regression and probably was caused by 2e18b64
