CTRL + Click no longer selects multiple UV faces at a time from the top bar of the UV window

What are you trying to do, and what do you expect to happen?

When holding CTRL and clicking a series of faces, each one clicked should be added to the selection.

What happens instead?

Only the most recently clicked is selected. Clicking and dragging still works to select multiple, but holding CTRL does not.
