Before using this app, my phone recently got screen burn from an app leaving my phone open. I was a bit confused since I have Screen timeout enabled for 30 seconds. After some digging, I discovered the wakelock feature on android. Any app or even a website can request to keep the phone screen on which makes the built-in Screen timeout feature useless.
I was hoping to find an app that did one of two things:
always took hold of the wake lock and forced the device to sleep after a period of inactivity
at least turn off the screen after a period of inactivity
Describe the idea you have
FakeStandby could have an option to enable automatically based on inactivity. The use could set a time in the app that they seem fit. And once the length of inactivity is equal to the set time, FakeStandby would enable. At least then if the built-in screen timeout setting fails, the FakeStandby will kick in to save the display.
Of course, this should probably not be the default behavior of the app. But it could be really useful as an option.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Of course, the built-in android Screen timeout settings.
