As we are requesting layman from internet (e.g. layman-instance.com) as well as from other docker containers (e.g. layman:8000), SERVER_NAME should not be set, because then Flasks automatically checks Host header and the check fails for requests from other docker container.

So, stop using SERVER_NAME
