Review skip and TODOs in unit tests

Expected behaviour

Go through the TODOs and skips and see what can be fixed.

Actual behaviour

There are ~20 skipped unit tests and several TODO comments.

To find the occurrences of these problems, you can run:

git grep skip
git grep TODO
git grep todo
