POSIX compliance

This isn't really an issue per se but is there a POSIX compliant alternative? I tried to make this run on my OpenBSD server because I don't want my email to be on official email server since those are more attractive to hackers, but I also want to be able to read my mail on the go.

I have an OpenBSD server that I want to download my mail to so I can, if I need, ssh to it on the go. My old setup was offline mail on desktop but then I couldn't access email on the go which caused some issues.

I installed all the dependencies but it seems to have been parsing issues due to bashisms or linuxism.
