Why I'm leaving Stack Exchange | LunarWatcher

I explain why I'm leaving the network, along with my explanation of some of the recent events that have taken place.

Olivia, you're one of the most amazing people I know. Knowing you also changed me for the better, as I learned a lot about trans people and how to behave around them properly.

Thanks for everything, and I really really hope you will be back. ❤️

It looks like you deleted all of your accounts but the MSE one. I'm really sorry that you were essentially forced to do that.

By the way, I've now mostly left Stack Exchange, as I mentioned here, because it's evident that SE won't do anything to rectify the situation. It's really sad that it has come to this, but, unfortunately, the SE I once advocated for and loved does not exist anymore, and is now against my elementary principles:

My life is more than SE, I won't let an internet website treat me unfairly, which I'm sure it'll do if no action is taken against this.

I hope that someday everything returns back to normal once and for all, so that we may finally have peace.

@GolfingSuccess I've got 7 accounts left - SO and MSE are the only major ones of those. I used the feature to hide communities before I left. There was a good reasoning behind it when I did, but I don't remember it at the moment. I did delete about 168 accounts on other sites where I've mostly flagged, but some contributing accounts also went along with it. I deleted the majority of my accounts on the off chance no action is taken ever. My most important accounts survived this round, but they have a year. After that, I'll be deleting the remaining accounts.

I hope we'll have some form of normal some day. One reason I ended up leaving is TL;DR: because I can't see a single chance in hell it'll happen soon. It has already drained me and it really, really sucks it ended like this. FWIW, I agree with what you said in the quote (and in general).

@LunarWatcher Unfortunately, I'm 99% sure that will never happen, SE going bankrupt seems more likely... 😢 And yeah, that's why I've disabled Charcoal autoflagging and taken care of something that would've likely been completely abandoned without me since November 1.

Well, they totally deserve to go bankrupt.

I'm sorry to see you go. It hurts to see people go who you've collaborated and had fun with. I wasn't active for the major part of 2019, and when I wanted to come back and doing what I can best (flagging and editing) this chaos happened. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do regarding SO/SE.

Still, I wish you the best for the future and you know what they say, you always meet twice in live 🙂

@Filnor It really does suck. I had a lot of fun on SO and SE, especially with SOBotics. Leaving was an extremely hard choice, but nonetheless was one I felt forced to take.

I hope you figure out what you want to do about SO/SE though, regardless of what that might be. And good luck - it's a very hard decision.
