Will this work with 2.1?

I guess you mean .NET Core 2.1?
All packages targeting netstandard1.x or 2.0 can be used in .NET Core 2.x projects of course.

see #221 for progress to update to .NETStandard 2.0 which will not "just" update all dependencies but also introduce a couple of changes.
