Please ensure strict mode has been enabled in the following file:
https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-python/blob/master/tsconfig.datascience-ui.json

Instructions to compiling the react code using the above config file:
npx webpack --config=webpack.datascience-ui.config.js --mode=production
