The module endaq.ide.measurement in endaq-python introduces an abstract representation of channel sensor/measurement types (acceleration, orientation, light, etc.) and means of filtering channels/subchannels by them. This functionality is useful to other moderately low-level components that don't need the additional functionality in (or overhead of) the rest of endaq.ide.

I guess the question part is whether it is worth it. Whats' in endaq.ide is kind of neat but probably overengineered.
