I think we now have the facilities to implement a proper resolution to #1113, in which we compute a frequency-dependent eigenmode source:

  1. Calculate the eigenmode sources at a specified set of frequencies (perhaps Chebyshev sampled)
  2. Use the fitting routine ala Adjoint near2far with vol_src #1329 to set up the time dependence.
  3. Possibly use the add_srcdata to export/import the sources at exactly the Yee points (WIP: allow add_srcdata to place sources on non-owned points #1959)?

Could also be coupled with #1319. cc @joelslaby
