@lifengren95 , what are the parts of the website that need to up be updated?

  1. It looks like the lab meetings need to be updated for the fall. Would it make sense to create an archive for past presentations?
  2. The home page can probably have a bit more fleshed out with main features: about, lab members, lab meetings, how to join.
  3. Do you want help setting up the skills workshop page? We can create a searchable table for the skills and link to the past presentations.
  4. Since we already have some of this on the official website, maybe we should just link to the official website for certain aspects.
  5. And I think it may be good to have a list of ongoing projects for the lab to showcase new work. And maybe highlight recent publications from the lab.

Tell me how I can help so we can build up the lab website.

That is true. Thanks for reminding me.

  1. Yes. I can update the lab meeting sections.
  2. Would you like to help with the homepage part.
  3. I think for the skill sessions: Yes. A separate tab would be good and we provide a title and link directly to our lab's internal repository. So that this is internal resources to share. We can ask the presenter if he/she would like to make this public and we can modify the visibility there. I can work on this.
  4. I do not quite get this point. Do you mean provide a hyperlink on the GitHub io website to the umn website?
  5. Yes. That sounds great. You want to help with this section?

Can you create a new branch under the github repository named as"develop_ryan" to work on this. I will also use the "develop_lifeng" to start working on this.

@jandrewjohnson Justin, how does this sound to you? And once we are done, can you help with the merge and publish?

Thanks,
Lifeng

My point on #4 is that there is a github page and a umn website. The UMN website seems to already have a lot of info that is not worth duplicating the info Github. So it is a decision of what to feature on the Github page, and do we hyperlink to important things on the UMN page.

Alternatively, the UMN website could be nothing more than a link to the github page that houses ALL the information.
