Plasma 6 can't open any applications with permission error

Describe the bug

Plasma 6 (i.e., panels, desktop, etc.) won't open any applications at all, failing with a notification saying something like "You don't have permissions to execute this application". I was able to "escape" by creating a shortcut on the desktop to just konsole which opened successfully. Running plasmashell --replace solves the problem. SDDM or some such missing the correct PATH or env?

Last working commit I could figure out for me is 9daae56550c8883757d122c0fb1188f24ccfe7fd and at least broken for me by again 219c7a812bbad89c2be78e05c32fd80068c01a27.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Use Plasma 6.
2. Bump nixpkgs to 219c7a812bbad89c2be78e05c32fd80068c01a27 onwards and rebuild.
3. Reboot.
4. Try to open any application via the launcher, icons, etc.
5. Observe permission errors.

I'm unable to reproduce this issue on the given commit.

Interesting! Thanks for testing. Swapping back and forth between two generations based on the two consistently breaks/unbreaks it for me so who knows what's going on. Fairly fresh with NixOS so not sure where to go from here!

This issue happens to me as well. In my case, doing a nixos-rebuild switch or a nixos-rebuild switch --upgrade causes the apps to no longer be able to open.
