Dear Tiffany,

As I might have mentioned to you, with a team of developers and journalists, I'm working on an online platform for civic data and thought the Women's Foundation would be interested in it. The platform is part of the open data movement's goal of putting civic data in a commons for all to learn from and build on top of. I figure that there are few things more foundational for the Women's Foundation than to hold sway over the data on women's issues, so my bet is that you have a wealth of figures on the matter, right?
The platform we're building will help NGOs publish their datasets so journalists, data scientists, and researchers can weigh in and help amplify your message. Related NGOs could also combine their datasets to build a stronger case for their issue.
We are currently rolling out the platform in Hong Kong, but before we start accepting datasets we need a more intimate understanding of NGOs like yours. I would therefore like to invite the Women's Foundation to participate in our pilot programme where we would work together with you to publish a datasets on the platform. In the pilot programme we explain exactly what it means to publish a dataset online and help you select and format the data for publication. It wouldn't involve collecting new data, but merely making public what's already available to you.

Is that something you think the Women's foundation would be interested in? Could you perhaps put me in touch with the best person to discuss the pilot programme with?
