Overview

Our team recently launched the Open Beta of the Opentrons Protocol Designer, our easy-to-use, point-and-click graphical user interface for creating protocols on the OT-2! 🎉

This is a great place to get started learning about the features and usability of our platform. No coding experience needed - you can use the designer's options to create pixel plate art, like Anna at Single Cell Discoveries! 👇

Instructions

  • Make sure you have the Google Chrome browser downloaded on your computer.
  • Visit the Protocol Designer page on our website to sign up.
  • Check your email for the magic link to confirm your enrollment in the Open Beta.
  • Access the Protocol Designer through your browser and start making your pixel plate art!

If you want us to run your protocol in-house and send you a video of it:

  • Use a p300 single channel on the left mount with a p300 tiprack
  • Select the 12-row trough as your starting location for your liquids.
  • Select the 96 well flat or 384 well plates for your transfer steps.
  • When you're done, export the file with your name as YourName.json and attach it to a comment on this issue!

If you need help, make sure to check out our Getting Started guide and out Help Center for tips on how to use the GUI.

If you're feeling fancy, we'd love feedback on the Protocol Designer user experience!! Please leave comments on this issue 😄

Have fun!!!
