Consistently use variables for media queries

While breakpoint variables as specified, they are not consistently applied. In several places media queries have hardcoded px values.

These values also differ from the values in the configuration file, but from the comments it appears they are meant to be the same value. So it appears these hardcoded values were forgotten at some point, while the configuration values were updated.
