This repository contains materials for the AHRQ webinar on linking MEPS-HC medical conditions to Prescribed Medicines. This is part 1 of a 2-part webinar series on linking MEPS-HC conditions to event files.
The webinar will cover an applied example of how to link the MEPS-HC Medical Conditions public use data file to the Prescribed Medicines public use data file using R. The example will cover loading MEPS data into R, merging data sets, and using survey procedures to estimate prescribed medicine utilization and expenditures for the treatment of hyperlipidemia among the U.S. civilian noninstitutionalized population in 2020. Basic familiarity with MEPS-HC and R (version 4.0.4 or later) is recommended.
Example SAS code is also provided in this respository for reference.
MEPS Data Users Workshops are held twice a year (in spring and fall). Additional webinars are provided throughout the year on an ad hoc basis. Presentation slides and programming exercises from the most recent Data Users Workshops are available in the MEPS-workshop repository.
