We are happy to answer your questions about the code or discuss technical ideas.

Please complete the following checklist (by adding [x]):

  • I have searched open and closed issues for duplicates
  • This isn't a feature request
  • This is not a report about my app not working as expected

I am using proton-vpn-gtk-app in Arch Linux and I am trying to configure port forwarding via Wireguard. I am following the manual port forwarding guide as recommended by the app, but natpmpc always reports that the gateway does not support nat-pmp, even though I am connected to a node that says it supports P2P / Bittorrent.

The same command works fine over OpenVPN and it even works fine when I manually import Wireguard certificates into NetworkManager, but Wireguard via the app does not. How do I get port forwarding working in this situation?

+1. Same server, but when connecting with WireGuard, I get this exact same error, whereas if I connect with OpenVPN, it works just fine.

It works for me on Ubuntu 24.04 when I use WireGuard

Still an issue for me if I use Wireguard in the app. If I just import the Wireguard certs into NetworkManager the natpmp one-liner works fine.

Got it, idk why this hasn't been an issue for me
