📌 Summary

We'll improve support for right-to-left text in plots and other text features, such as implementing hooks to add custom translations to Bokeh's toolbar elements.

📝 Background

Bokeh's text elements currently support English and some mathematical notations. We will improve the text rendering models and translation hooks to:

  • broaden support for multiple languages, including right-to-left scripts
  • enable internationalization and translation of components lacking customization options, such as the toolbars.
