Installation

Requirements

  • A brain
  • A computer and a USB-C cable (Official cable is recommended)
  • A Redmi Note 10S (rosemary/secret/maltose) with an unlocked bootloader
  • Firmware required by your rom (#Firmware)

Notes

  • Lineage Recovery is the ONLY SUPPORTED recovery (TWRP / OrangeFox are not supported as they may cause issues)

  • Custom Kernels are NOT SUPPORTED (the ROM already ships with VOID Kernel)

  • IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES and you don't use Lineage Recovery / you use a custom kernel / don't follow this guide properly / don't use "recommended" Firmware / ..., you WON'T get support.

Firmware

Depending on the ROM version you're installing, you need to use a specific MIUI version (for exemple 12.5 for Lineage 18.1 (Android 11), etc). If it isn't installed follow this guide (Soon) and use the recommended fastboot ROM present in the table below

Recommended fastboot ROMs/MIUI versions are recommended because they were used during developpement and are therefore the most tested. If you're already comming from a version marked as compatible (for example 12.5.*), you may encounter issues in the future. If you have issues you should try flashing recommended firmware.

Installing MIUI 12.5.16Global Firmware from MIUI 12.5.X

If you come from an older / non-global version of MIUI 12.5, you SHOULD flash 12.5.16.0 Firmware before installing LineageOS.

To do it, just sideload "recommended firmware" zip before LineageOS installation zip (in Lineage Recovery) and reboot to recovery.

Installing 12.5.16.0 Global firmware from MIUI 13

If you are coming from MIUI 13, flashing the whole fastboot ROM is recommended to make sure you are safe about things such as ARB.

Installation

Booting Lineage Recovery

  • Reboot your phone in fastboot mode (using VOL- Key or adb reboot bootloader)

  • Start by flashing the vbmeta.img (found in release files) by using fastboot flash --disable-verity --disable-verification vbmeta vbmeta.img

  • Then flash the Lineage Recovery boot image (found in release files) using fastboot flash boot boot-rosemary-lineage.img

  • Reboot to recovery using fastboot reboot recovery

  • If you need to flash 12.5.16.0 Global firmware:

    • Go to "Apply Update > From ADB" in Lineage Recovery
    • On your pc, type adb sideload fw_rosemary_miui_ROSEMARYGlobal_V12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM_4c7c90de54_11.0.zip
    • If you see "signature verification failed", ignore the error by pressing "Yes"
    • Once the firmware is flashed, reboot to recovery ("Advanced > Reboot to recovery")

Flashing Lineage Itself

  • Go to "Apply Update > From ADB" on Lineage Recovery screen

  • On your pc run adb sideload lineage-18.1-DATE-UNOFFICIAL-rosemary.zip

    • If you see a "Signature verification failed" error, click yes

  • When flashing is finished, go to return to Lineage Recovery main screen then press "Factory Reset > Format Data"

  • If you want to flash Gapps, download this gapps package (MindTheGapps) and sideload them BEFORE BOOTING LINEAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • Reboot to system using "Reboot system"

  • Enjoy
