v12 is here

The next major update is planned to be released around 11.09.2023.
This day is the Node v16's end of life.
The support of Node 16 will be discontinued.
For the same reason Node 19's support will be discontinued as well: it's EOL has already passed.

How to prepare for upcoming migration

1. Upgrade Node to at least 18 or 20.1.
2. Upgrade Typescript to at least 5.1.3.
3. If using Jest, upgrade it to at least 28.

Node 18 has introduced some security related changes that may be incompatible with some of your dependencies, however, most likely all of them already have newer versions with compatibility fixes, meaning that you should upgrade those dependencies as well.
