Every now and then, the Pi crashes when refreshing the screen. This is probably related/similar to the issue noted here: https:// github.com/ waveshare/ e-Paper/ issues/ 92. The power draw becomes too large when the screen is attached via the HAT, since the circuit then operates at 5V. As a temporary solution, connect the screen via the PH2.0 wires and connect it to the 3.3V pin instead. Now the power draw is lower when refreshing. A permanent solution is in the works by Waveshare, however this requires changes in the hardware so it is not directly applicable to the current screen.
