It seems like you add a dash - before arguments (see this line in the source code). Thus, the examples in the Readme should look like

ep.readMetadata('photo.jpg', ['File:all']))

and not

ep.readMetadata('photo.jpg', ['-File:all']))

otherwise you end up with an extra dash, resulting in the malformed command exiftool --File:all photo.jpg

I only found this out by stepping through the code using a debugger, so to other people this may just look like a broken library.
