Instead of only checkbox make a ui with functions to make the advancement.
Check how much XP one does have and go through the milestones when the GM allows for advancement to happen.
+4 to stat pools: opens a menu similar to recovery to add points to the stat pool
+1 to effort: just apply and skip if there is necessary points
+1 to edge: same as above
Train/Specialize skill: maybe a dropdown to sele which skill to increase in tier (Untrained -> Trained -> Specialized) excluding the Inability ones

Advancement is definitely on my roadmap but quite frankly it's quite low on the priority list because advancement is a one-off task that involves very little work from the player (eg. select "+1 Edge", increase an Edge... done). This feels like a lot of work for not much.
That being said, if there's a lot of demand for that, I might reprioritize it.
