Describe the Issue in Detail

When creating a Linkage for an Event Occurrence, if the linkage ONLY has a URL Slug and does not have a Registration Instance linked to it, the Calendar Event Item Occurrence View will not display the event and instead displays an error.

In the Core Rock Mobile App, the error message looks like this:

In our church's Rock Mobile App, the error message looks like this:
IMG_1591

In our Rock Instance and on the demo site, an exception is also created:

Can reproduce in

  • Orange App
  • Blue App

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create an Event Item and Event Occurrence.

  2. Create a Linkage for the Event Occurrence that only uses the URL Slug, similar to this image:

  3. In a mobile app, navigate to a page with the Calendar Event List block on it. The block settings should link you to a page that uses the Calendar Event Item Occurrence View Block.

  4. After tapping on the Event Occurrence you created, you will see an error message.

Expected Behavior

The Calendar Event Item Occurrence View Block should display an event when a linkage is created with only a URL Slug.

Actual Behavior

The Calendar Event Item Occurrence View Block does not display an event when a linkage is created with only a URL Slug.

I also experienced this issue but with a blank linkage that was somehow associated with an event occurrence. I tested further and found that if a linkage is created without a registration instance (i.e., using only a slug, or a group linkage), the error will also be triggered.
