v2.1.1 – Humane Fixes

Turns out that v2.1.0 had a problem with BonApp's "Humane" dietary filter; we had a talk with the app and came to an understanding about "humane" meat products. We also talked about not crashing when you see something you don't expect, so when BonApp rolls out another new dietary type we should be 💯.

We also added menus for Carleton's campus – go see the other side of the river! Your Ole Card will let you in, and it just uses your meal plan. (It won't let you in their doors, though.)

Bug Fixes

• We've eradicated the pesky lists that liked to end behind the tab bars.
• Contacts will no longer vanish at inopportune moments.

• Oh, and we made News load again, too.
• Oleville will properly display images now.
• The bus schedules no longer report incorrect times between loops.
• We fixed a few tricky DST and timezone issues.

Miscellaneous

• The app is significantly smaller (from ~17 MB down to ~5 MB!).
• We tweaked the app icon to include a white background (on iOS), so that the app stands out a bit more.
• The Calendar now includes "Ongoing" and "Today" headings.
• Hours gained information for a bunch of popular spots around campus (and additional hours for some existing buildings!) If we don't have a building or office that you want to know hours for, let us know and we'll add it!
• Menus can be filtered now! Only want to see the Deli station? You can do that! Only care about gluten-free vegan selections? Turn that filter on! Let us know what you think.
• We added a list of all the student organizations on campus! St. Olaf is transitioning to a new service called "Check I'm Here", and they provide a nice list of student orgs. We even highlight the "new" orgs, in case you're hip and want to join them before anyone else.
• The SIS view … well, we fixed some bugs, and probably made some new ones too. It still can't keep you logged in for more than ~15 minutes, though. We're working on it.

v2.0.1 – Bugfix Release 1

The first bugfix release of All About Olaf version 2 has arrived!

In this release, the team did the following:

• Fixed a bug that caused the app to crash when the SIS view is opened a second time.
• Fixed UI bugs on Android
• Rewrote and beautified the Transportation view
• Beautified the calendar
• Beautified the dictionary
• Beautified the credits, privacy, and legal
• Added titles to the news story view
• Updated package versions to improve security

v2.0.0 – Initial Release of React Native Version

The biggest update in the history of All About Olaf is also the introduction of the Android version! This update makes many visible changes, seeking to make the experience more modern for students, keeping in mind the features that students use most.

Here's what we did:

• Rewrote the app in React-Native, making future updates easier. Expect more frequent updates going forward.
• Added Oleville view to help students keep up with the latest from SGA
• Added Cage menu section
• Added more popular campus stops to the Building Hours section
• Added more news sources: track updates from the PoliticOle and the Manitou Mess
• Updated the Map section to the new St. Olaf Map
• Added the bus schedule to the transportation screen
• Added push notifications
