• Exists for IDT, plan is to apply it to Twist as well
• Got contacts with Asimov as well
• Goal is to have organizations using SBOL
• Seeking to understand why orgs are not using SBOL
• Lucas talked to Kevin at Asimov about exactly that
  • They have some glyphs of their own related to SBOL Visual
  • Kevin wants a validator
  • We can gather requirements at HARMONY
• Focus the team on Twist, Asimov, and existing projects for now
• Then expand to other companies
• Chris suggests BioMADE

SBOL Committees

• SBOL Industrial: Reaching out to various members
• Also starting to talk about new Editors - 2 hit their 3-year hard limit this year
• Steering Committee membership
  • Talked to a few people - 1 interested, 1 doesn't have time, haven't heard back from another
• Prashant will circle back on other nominees as well to see where they would best fit
• Editor Alumni group: trying to keep folks involved after they retire from Editors group

HARMONY

• Abstracts are ready
• 2 breakout sessions
  • SBOL converter / validator
  • "10 years of SBOL Visual" effort

  • Only 2 breakouts submitted so far; excited to get the SBOL ones
  • Few registrants so far - if you're attending, please register!
  • HARMONY is different from COMBINE - more like a hackathon

  • Discussion of logistics for making progress on the SBOL Visual data gathering and manuscript

  • Will start reviewing things now so that we don't bump up against the deadline

  • Chris would like to hand off the costs of the SBOL domain, he pays for it

  • Goal is to start early to recruit new candidates and to have multiple candidates for each election
