Help on creating a beautiful site for Time to Leave #468
Comments
For extra reference, our logo is available here, and our main font is Montserrat. |
I'm interested in helping out with the site. Is it open? |
Let me know if you have any questions :) |
Interested |
I just updated the description of the issue to include some more information as well as some app's sites that I think have somewhat the feeling that we would be looking for. |
Are there wireframes or sketch on what you want the site to look like. I haven't look completely around. Are you looking a plain html/css/JS site or a framework based like React? |
So I'm assigned to this issue ? |
Hi @RafaelDavisH, I just updated the information again. But to clarify, the idea is to have different people submitting suggestions, and, after October we'll evaluate and chose one (or more) to implement.
This is actually what I would like to receive as PRs hahaha, a draft of what the site could look like. I mentioned above some of the things I think it could have such as a downloading section, some area for showcasing the features, etc. But you don't need to get tied to those. I have provided some examples of sites that do some things similar to what I would want with this site.
I think for the purpose of the site, a plain html/css/JS site would be enough, but I don't really know React to fully understand the scope of that. As I mention above, for now you don't need to worry about coding and frameworks (although you can leave suggestions for us, and we'll appreciate very much). |
@thamara thank you for the clarification. Sorry I thought the issue was to code a site. I'm all in. I'll work on a version/suggestion for the site using the logo as a reference for theme colors and the font Montserrat. Thanks again. |
Going by the features in the electron app, we won't need a fancy framework. |
One more clarification, we don't want (at least for now) to move the app to a web-app (although it would look really cool). |
I would like to contribute to this. |
Time to Leave now have a site: https://timetoleave.app/
But we need help making it look pretty. Please leave suggestions on the template for it.
Here's the information I think it needs to have:
The idea behind the site is to have a nice way to showcase the app in a more flexible way compared to the README we have today. So I guess it could be seen as a "selling" site, but not really selling as Time to Leave is free.
Here are a few apps that I think do this very well:
And yes! This will count towards Hacktoberfest. To submit suggestions you can open PRs adding the proposed layout under
website/layout_suggestion/
.You can submit any file type,
pdf
,.fig
, etc. It is not required to be a portfolio level of work, some wireframes might be enough. We'll be accepting suggestions until the end of October.
Important:
If you have more questions, feel free to contact us in this issue, or, join or discord channel.
More on time to Leave:
Refer to our README for a global view of the feature
Time to Leave is a Desktop app for work time management, looking similar to a time-card system. It's different from other software available as it's very simple, doesn't require any database configuration, and focuses on allowing you to control your time. Its premise is to help you manage the time you are working and to notify you when it's time to leave (therefore the name).
It is highly customizable, not only on the look and feel (with different month and day visions, different themes, and more), but also offers lots of functionalities such as defining how many hours you usually work per day, which week days, allow you to quickly source holidays based on your region (Country, State and City), and much more.
How to contribute without really knowing git?
If you want to contribute, but doesn't really know much of git, here's a brief tutorial on how to submit something directly from
