Requirements for our tech blog:

  • Simple, supports needed features only, refuse to fancy
  • tags
  • archive
  • comments

For comments solution, I like using github to hold comments, as the solution described here: jhvanderschee/jekyllcodex#4

You should not send your valuable visitor data to a random surveillance company.

Disqus is also a good option, but could act as a second solution. Moving my blog comments from Disqus to Github issues using PowerShell
